The Skeptical Empath (she/her) is just another hot mess of a human being trying to figure out how to make the world a better place. An empath who has spent a great deal of her life trying to sort out her own emotions from those of the people around her, joining a large crowd of upset people waving signs is not only terrifying, but downright unhealthy. The SE is also waaaay too much of an introvert to run for political office (unless she could just maybe do it from the comfort of her home, in her pajamas).
So, The Skeptical Empath (SkeptE?) asked herself, “Self, what skill can I offer towards making the world a kinder, gentler place?” In a flurry of morning journaling, herself suggested she could probably write some stuff.
Maybe the stuff would be great! Or maybe it would at least be mildly interesting! Maybe the stuff she wrote would inspire one person to change how they interact with their world. Then maybe, just maybe that one person would share that change, pass along that mildly interesting blog post, and slowly the positive effects would ripple out from this moderately derange– cough –I mean, skeptical empathic person’s blog.
So, SkeptE (I don’t know if that works, but for now it does) decided she would write about some of the deep thinks she’s thinking when writing or pondering the world’s issues. She might tackle some philosophical stuff, some wellness stuff, some spiritual/metaphysical stuff, but what she would try to do for her readers is filter out the hogwash. Pare down the overflow of information out there into some practical, common sense, and sometimes a little bit snarky ways of looking at the world.
And maybe a long the way, she can spread a little love and light and stuff.
The Skeptical Empath lives in the wilds of Maine (sort of) where she and her husband and dog are employed by their two cats. She is a licensed massage therapist and Reiki master teacher, and has worked for more than 30 years as an empath, intuitive, and healer.
